December is always a busy month, as many of us spend our time planning and shopping for the holidays, welcoming visitors to our homes, and celebrating with family and friends.  The madness of the holiday season is always much more enjoyable if you are organized. Kitchen organization is particularly important as it is the hub of activity in the home for holiday cooking and socializing.  An organized and clutter-free kitchen can make the celebrations much more fun, as every fork, appliance, and special tablecloth has a place and you are easily able to store and find them.

According to the latest design trends, many people consider a bathtub to be outdated or unnecessary in a bathroom renovation.  They may remove a tub to leave more space and budget for other features like an extra-large shower or a larger vanity with specialized storage.  These are all excellent bathroom remodeling ideas, but for some people nothing can replace the feeling of a soothing soak in the tub.  If a bath is your idea of the ultimate in relaxation, then design trends should not keep you from including it in your new bathroom design! 
 

Just like picking the right jewelry completes a special outfit, kitchen hardware puts the finishing touches on a kitchen design.  A kitchen renovation involves making decisions on items such as kitchen cabinets, countertops, and flooring that are typically a significant investment and must stand the test of time.  The kitchen hardware you select complements these items by pulling together the colors and style of your room.  Hardware selections also allow you to bring out your personality in a way that enhances your design, but also can be more easily swapped as tastes change.
 

When planning a bathroom remodeling project, which items top your list of products to investigate with your bathroom design expert?  Perhaps you are looking for a specific shower, vanity, or tile?  Selecting grout probably did not make the top of your list.  While it may not be the most exciting part of a bathroom renovation, it is important to understand that all grout is not created equal.  Selecting the correct grout for your tile installation can make a huge difference in the finished product and ongoing maintenance of your new space.

It’s that time of year again!  September brings football season, changing weather, and the opportunity to meet our kitchen and bath design colleagues at the semi-annual SEN Design Group conference.  SEN is the kitchen and bath industry’s first and largest buying group.  As part of its goal of providing valuable kitchen and bath education to members, SEN offers a Fall and Spring conference every year.  These conferences are comprised of workshops, panels, and roundtables featuring nationally renowned kitchen and bath experts.
